Basseterre, St. Kitts, Tuesday, March 31, 2026: On Tuesday, March 31, the Charles E. Mills Secondary School (CEMSS) hosted a grand victory ceremony to celebrate its outstanding performance at the annual TDC Track & Field Interschool Championship.

The school secured its ninth consecutive championship title, extending an impressive winning streak that has solidified its dominance in school athletics. This latest triumph also brings the institution’s total championship wins to twenty-nine, a remarkable milestone in the competition’s history.

Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Minister of Education, praised the team, highlighting their determination and the strong support system that contributed to their continued success and well-earned celebration.

“I am super proud of Charles E. Mills. I saw the determination in you, and it must have been because of the pep talk you received from your coaches, teachers, and parents. I saw the fight in your faces, and you won it for the ninth time and overall, twenty-nine times, and you deserve every reason to celebrate.”

Mr. Roger Woodley, Deputy Chief Education Officer, also congratulated the team, noting that their continued success reflects dedication and brings pride to the community. “I bring congratulations from the Ministry of Education. Winning nine times is not an easy feat. To win once or twice can be a coincidence, but to win nine times cannot be luck. Our athletes have done the community well.”

Several key stakeholders joined in celebrating the school’s accomplishment. Among them was the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, their title sponsor, which commended the team for maintaining such a high standard of performance over the years.

In addition, the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletic Association recognized the team’s exceptional achievement and presented them with a cash prize in honour of their championship victory. The

association praised the athletes for their dedication to the sport and their role in elevating athletics within the Federation.

The victory ceremony not only celebrated a win but also underscored the legacy of excellence that Charles E. Mills Secondary School continues to build. With nine consecutive titles and nearly three decades of success, the school remains a powerhouse in inter-school athletics and a beacon of inspiration for future generations.
