FEDERATION STUDENTS EXCEL IN EARLY STAGES OF TVET PROGRAMME IN GERMANY

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Tuesday, July 23, 2024: Dillons Simmonds and Rodison Jeffers have begun to reap the benefits of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed earlier this year between the Ministry of Education and the Chamber of Crafts Flensburg in Germany.

This landmark agreement is designed to enhance technical and vocational education and training (TVET) opportunities for young Kittitians and Nevisians.

The pioneering students in the TVET programme, have completed their initial German language course. Their rapid mastery of the German language, despite having no prior exposure to the country or its people, has impressed authorities in Germany. This early achievement demonstrates their dedication and the effectiveness of the preparatory courses provided under the programme.

Mr. Simmonds and Mr. Jeffers received their language certificates from Dr. Kertney Thompson, CEO of the TVET Council, and Special Envoy Ama Martin, M.D., marking a crucial milestone. This certificate is the first step towards their vocational training in Germany, set to commence in 2025. Through this exchange programme, they will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electronics engineering, a field in high demand.

The Ministry of Education is proud of the outstanding success of the two young nationals and is committed to continue providing youths with unparalleled opportunities for growth and development. The early successes of the TVET programme with Germany are a testament to the potential of our students and the strength of international partnerships.
