Basseterre: St. Kitts, Tuesday, September 17, 2024: Principals and instructional coaches from primary schools in St. Kitts as well as officers from the Curriculum Development Unit participated in a digital curriculum debriefing session on Friday, September 13, 2024.
The session held at the Curriculum Development Unit’s Conference Room, spearheaded by Mr. Royston Emmanuel Snr. Technical Officer of OECS, was aimed at providing guidance in navigating the virtual pages of the OECS Pearl Digital Curriculum.
Mrs. Amanda Edmead, Curriculum Development Unit Director, shared, “The Digital Curriculum offers integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate lesson plans and other features to teachers. The Digital OECS Harmonized Primary Curriculum is being piloted on the kindergarten (kg) to grade two classes in four schools in St. Kitts”.
The schools that are a part of the micro pilot are Doctor William Connor Primary School, Beach Allen Primary School, Sandy Point Primary School and Cayon Primary School.
The OECS Pearl Digital Curriculum is a part of the Digital OECS Harmonized Primary Curriculum (DOHPC) which is aimed at standardizing and raising the quality of education across member states
