In 1999, the Government of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis established the St. Christopher and Nevis Accreditation Board (SKNAB) as the quality assurance body with responsibility for ensuring quality standards are met in the higher education system. The SKNAB monitors, registers, accredits and certifies institutions of post secondary, tertiary and training provider education within the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Cognizant that higher education acts as a gateway to advancement, socially as well as professionally, the Board is tasked with ensuring that institutions of higher education located within the Federation perform to the highest standard. Since its establishment, the Board has accredited several institutions that offer a variety of quality academic programmes to students in St. Kitts and Nevis.
